2020 Training Seminar Cancelled

  

Dear NYSATRC Members,


Due to the COVID-19 virus, the 2020 NYSATRC training seminar scheduled for June 14-17, 2020, in Ithaca, has been cancelled. After conferring with the officers and directors of NYSATRC, it was decided that it was in the best interest to protect the health and safety of our members. 


We had until April 14, 2020, to make a decision to cancel with the Marriott Ithaca, with no charge to NYSATRC. As New York State regulations regarding group activities and sheltering are changing daily, the Association does not know how long before these regulations would be lifted. It would also be a risk financially to hold the seminar. If we decided not to cancel and continue as planned for June, and we were not able to hold the seminar, we would be responsible to the motel for a minimum occupancy. As it is now, the motel has been very gracious and understanding by allowing us to cancel, by April 14,2020, with no fees, while maintaining a 2-year contract with them for 2021 and 2022.


The Marriott will be working with our President to ensure that any members who have registered with the motel will receive a refund. In addition, members who have sent in their registration fee, will either have their checks returned, or refunded.


We ask for your understanding in making this decision. We always look forward to the educational and social offerings at the June seminar. Our focus is to continue with scheduling for next year’s conference.
